Stephen Coyle is Group ATN's Director of Research Solutions. Stephen brings a diversified career background including a variety of senior-level positions in the provincial government and an assignment with the federal government; augmented with private sector experience in management consulting and support to small businesses and entrepreneurs.
Stephen is driven to generate insights through enquiry and research to present a compelling story about growth that acts as a catalyst for positive and sustained change. He draws on a broad range of experience in management consulting and government.
Stephen’s areas of expertise include business research and analysis, strategic planning, market research, organizational effectiveness and program evaluation.
Stephen is a leader and collaborator focused on providing practical decision support creating tangible results. Leveraging a wide range of research and planning tools, Stephen is committed to delivering the highest value and most cost-effective decision support to clients using multiple lines of enquiry.
Stephen has diverse cross-sectoral experience including public, private and not for profit organizations. An area of principal focus and expertise is in tourism research. Stephen has over twenty years of experience with tourism research, planning and policy. In these diverse roles, Stephen was primarily engaged with the Nova Scotia Tourism Agency and provincial departments responsible for tourism, but also had a secondment with Parks Canada, engaged in research to support national park and historic site planning.
Previously as Vice President, Research and Development at a Halifax-based management consulting practice, Stephen’s primary role was to provide clients with access to research and business insights to support strategic growth and improved organizational productivity.
Stephen draws on 30 years of experience in government, the private sector and academia. As Director, Research and Decision Support, with the Nova Scotia Tourism Agency he oversaw a team of research professionals ensuring effective use of the agency’s resources through ongoing measurement and evaluation. Prior to this, Stephen was a senior market research analyst with the Nova Scotia Department of Tourism and Culture and a senior policy analyst with the Nova Scotia Senior Citizen’s Secretariat.
Stephen’s dedication to exceptional client service is the driver behind much of his work and believes the best way to do this by delivering timely strategic insights to support informed decision making. Stephen ensures this dedication is met by committing to research rigor and integrity.
Stephen, a graduate of Dalhousie with both an MBA in Market Research and Bachelor of Science degree.
