Emma McGuire is a Research Analyst at Group ATN Consulting, specializing in economic analysis and data visualization.
She completed her Master of Science in Environmental Sustainability at the University of Ottawa, while she worked as a Research Fellow at the Smart Prosperity Institute. During her time at the University of Ottawa, Emma focused her research on the distributional effects of carbon pricing on vulnerable groups in Canada, including Indigenous communities, low-income households, rural communities, and other groups. Prior to enrolling in her Master’s program at the University of Ottawa, Emma worked at the Bank of Canada in the Economic Research and Analysis Division in the Currency Department. In her role at the Bank, Emma conducted research and economic analysis, and developed reports for many external stakeholders including multi-billion-dollar retailers.
Since joining the Group ATN team, Emma has contributed to more than 50 projects in a variety of sectors, including fisheries, tourism, labour and education, in addition to many projects for First Nations communities in Atlantic Canada. While her specialty is economic / socio-economic research and analysis, Emma also works as Group ATN’s data visualization specialist, creating dynamic infographics for many different types of assignments.
